Welcome to the World's Oldest Club dedicated Exclusively to the Working Bouvier!

Police Service

The heritage of the Bouvier includes police and guard work. The daily challenges of the work are a very complete test of the character of any dog.

Police Dog Work is perhaps the most complete test of a Bouvier's working ability there is. People's lives can depend on the dog being courageous, obedient and strong. The dog must be willing and able to apprehend an armed criminal, search a building, or sit in the car - all depending on the needs of it's partner that day. And the dog may be required to visit classrooms and act as Ambassadors of Good Will, both for the Police they work for and Dogs in general. Many officers look for dogs with Schutzhund III, KNPV or Ring III titles in their ancestry.

A K-9 cop serves as a partner to his handler, sometimes protecting life, sometimes serving as an ambassador to the community.
